JESSICA BIEL NAMED SHOWEST 2005 "FEMALE STAR OF TOMORROW"
BIEL TO NEXT STAR IN COLUMBIA PICTURES' EPIC ACTION THRILLER, STEALTH

LOS ANGELES - ShoWest 2005 (March 14 - March 17) is pleased to announce that
emerging star, Jessica Biel has been named ShoWest 2005 Female Star of
Tomorrow, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of
the event. Biel will next be seen starring in Columbia Pictures' epic
action thriller feature, Stealth, directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the
Furious, XXX) and co-starring Jamie Foxx and Josh Lucas. Stealth will be
released nationwide on July 29th.
"ShoWest has a long tradition of recognizing top break-out stars in this
award category and we could not be more excited about honoring Jessica Biel
as this year's Female Star of Tomorrow," said Neuhauser. "Her amazing
presence on screen and impressive range of acting work, including her
upcoming leading role in Columbia's Stealth make her more than deserving of
this award and we are honored to be recognizing her."
Following the breakout success of her starring role on the hit television
series, "7th Heaven," Biel has quickly become one of Hollywood's most sought
after film actresses. Biel's recent film credits include: Blade: Trinity;
the hit remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Cellular and The Rules of
Attraction, among others. This summer, in addition to Stealth, Biel will
also be seen in Cameron Crowe's Elizabethtown. Biel will be presented with
the ShoWest 2005 Female Star of Tomorrow award at ShoWest's closing night
ceremony on Thursday, March 17.
Columbia Pictures' Stealth, also starring Josh Lucas and Jamie Foxx, is an
epic action thriller about a squadron of elite pilots who embark on a
mission of global consequence to neutralize an out-of-control prototype
drone fighter plane equipped with artificial intelligence and the ability to
precipitate a nuclear war. Stealth is directed by Rob Cohen (XXX, The Fast
and the Furious), written by W.D. Richter and Kario Salem and produced by
Laura Ziskin (Spider-Man(r), Spider-Man(r) 2), Mike Medavoy (The Sixth Day)
and Neal H. Moritz (S.W.A.T., The Fast and the Furious, XXX).
ShoWest's previously announced award recipients include Catalina Sandino
Moreno who will be honored as ShoWest's International Star of the Year;
Pixar's Brad Bird who will receive the Animation Director of the Year award;
Bernie Mac who will receive the Comedy Star of the Year award and Hayden
Christensen who will receive the Male Star of Tomorrow award.
The 2005 edition of ShoWest will be held March 14 -17 at Bally's and Paris
Las Vegas and is expected to draw more than 5000 members of the industry.
